If, like me, you have a stash of fabric remnants in a box that you bought 'to do something with' and never did, or have old bedding clogging up the airing cupboard, or that 'charity bag of clothes' that didn't make it to the shops, then Rag Rugging is a brilliant way to use it all up and make a unique and practical rug into the bargain!
Any fabrics, apart from towelling, can be used so don't hold back - bag it all up and bring it along on the day. You can choose what shaped base you want to use - we have hearts, semi-circles, oblong and square shapes - so give a little thought as to where you want it to go in your house. On the day we'll decide how to put your fabric colours into a co-ordinated pattern that creates that 'wow' factor!
You will learn the 'proddy' technique of rag rugging and how to cut your strips neatly and correctly. This popular workshop is very relaxing, and if you can use a pair of scissors, then you can make a rag rug!
As this is an all day workshop please bring a packed lunch as well as a sharp pair of scissors, plus your fabric. You will be provided with all other necessary equipment on the day such as sacking, peg, needle and thread
