In this brand new workshop you will learn how to make your very own walking stick!
You'll have a choice whether to make it with deer antler or asian water buffalo horn. You will learn to fit caps, file them down, prepare them for polishing using fine grit sandpaper and finish with steel wool before polishing using a polishing compound on a polishing wheel
You will drill a hole in the centre of the handle, drill a hole in the spacer which goes between the handle and the shank, and then learn to make a peg joint, dress the shank to remove nodules, sandpaper it, oil it, let it dry and then finish using a ferrule at the base of the stick
Tools used: coping saw, half rounded moon file, flat file, small rounded file, stick press and heat gun
Learning outcome - you will learn how to shape caps, glue them to the handle, prepare the handle for polishing, dress the shank and finish the shank
