Musicport are delighted to announce that Eliza Carthy & The Wayward Band are to headline the Sunday night of this years Musicport Festival. The internationally acclaimed, Whitby-based musician and her rousing band will finish the festival proceedings on the Main Stage to complete their 2015 tour which has been celebrating 21 years of Eliza being a professional musician.
With a string of major festival appearances over the summer and into the autumn to finish their much lauded tour in her home town seemed to good an opportunity to miss and organiser Jim McLaughlin said “ We looked at all kinds of possible big name acts to finish the festival but in the end it had to be Eliza with her strong local connections and astonishingly powerful musical heritage who would win the day. It now means that Sunday ofMusicport now has 3 of the very top English folk acts in its line-up with The Demon Barbers XL & The Emily Portman Trio to complement all the international artists who will be also appearing at this annual 3 day celebration of music from around the world ”
