The Whitby & District Lions 4th Annual Beer Festival 2013 will have over 30 beers, ciders and perrys to sample. All our beers and ciders are from either local or regional micro breweries and all are certified 'Real Ales'. Real ale is a natural product brewed using traditional ingredients and is left to mature in a cask. This process makes real ale unique amongst beers and develops the wonderful tastes and aromas which process beer can never provide. We will have a huge range of different beer styles, each with different qualities, tastes and strengths. There will be an exciting range of Bitters, Best Bitters, Milds Golden Ales, Stouts and Specialist Beers all are produced using only the highest quality ingredients by skilled brewers and all are CAMRA (Campaign for Real Ales) registered.
So if you love your beers and ciders or if you just want to relax and enjoy our wonderful atmosphere, why not come along and enjoy sampling some of the finest local and regional delights! And remember all money raised goes to well deserved local charities.
The festival is open from 12 Noon to 10 PM daily, entry cost £5.00 and you will receive a commemorative souvenir ½ pint festival tankard, a festival program that features a list and tasting notes of our wide verity of beers, ciders and perrys and one drinks token. Once you have paid the entry fee it entitles you to admission to all the remaining days of the festival.
This is our fourth annual festival and all have been very successful, last year we raised around £3,000.00 for local charities and the year before we raised another £3,000.00 for the Great North Air Ambulance and the Yorkshire Air Ambulance. There is always a great atmosphere of visitors enjoying their selected drink while having great conversion between other visitors and our volunteers in the beautiful setting of the Metropole Ballroom. There will be hot fresh locally produced food available throughout the festival which is an excellent a complement to your selected drink. Soft drinks are also available throughout the festival from the bar opposite the venue.
