When a CIA U-2 spy plane is shot down in service over the Soviet Union, American pilot Francis Gary Powers escapes only to be immediately captured by Russians.  

Lawyer James Donovan is tasked with the seemingly impossible mission of negotiating Powers’ release from his captors and is unwittingly thrust right into the epicentre of the Cold War.
Masterful storyteller Steven Spielberg directs this tense political thriller which is based upon the true events surrounding the infamous 1960 U-2 incident.
