This competition for choirs takes place at The Pavilion Theatre in Whitby this April.

There are separate classes for each type of choir -Ladies, Male Voice, Mixed Voice and for smaller choirs.
 
We also offer competitive classes in Sacred Music, Songs from the Shows and the slightly unusual ‘Christmas in April’! The latter gives choirs a chance to reprieve their Christmas repertoire with a carol and a Christmas song. The day ends with the Recital class when choirs can really show what they can do with a 15 minutes programme of their best/favourite pieces.

There is a £100 prize for the winner of this class.

This year we have 10 choirs competing, with a number returning for another attempt to win and to enjoy a day by the seaside. We are also pleased to welcome for the first time the Holme Valley Singers and Nelson Civic Ladies Choir. We hope that they will become regular visitors.

Our adjudicator this year is Sam Dunkley MA, BMus (Hons).

Tickets can be obtained on the door and cost £5 for morning and evening sessions and £5 for the evening session. (£10 for the whole day).
