Festival On The Moor brings another high quality night of music to it's latest concert series; ‘Music On The Moor’, on July 4th. Aimed at taking acoustic music to the North York Moors communities, the events feature an eclectic mix of artists performing in Village Halls, Coffee Shops, Tea Rooms etc, across the North York Moors area.
The next event is at Danby Village Hall on July 4th (Doors 7pm) and features the brilliant songwriter and internationally acclaimed singer & guitarist, Richard Grainger;
Richard is based in Whitby and has produced 14 albums over a career spanning 30 years. He constantly tours throughout the UK, North America and Europe and is co-founder of Festival On The Moor, now in its 19th year. You may have seen him on TV last year, teaching Robson Green a couple of songs when he visited Whitby for his 'Coastal Lives' show.
In a recent interview Richard explained: ‘ I love singing my songs to local people – which after all are about their heritage and the working lives of those past and present - but I also love to tell visitors all about our wonderful area too. My songs are not all about history, however, but also cover all kinds of themes from travel to murder, from the state of the planet to a good old love song. If you're up for it, there's plenty where you can join in!!’.
Also on the bill are the energetic and passionate, John Ward Trio who are steadily adding to their fan base thanks to great songs and entertaining and humorous performances, plus enchanting local singing group, Patchwork. This is an evening not to be missed. There is also a POP UP Real Ale & Gin Bar and light snacks.
